Ah winter, Christmas and the holidays ... this period when we willingly allow small dietary drift, at the dawn of making good resolutions for the new year ... well, and if the first was to increase my level vigilance on what my dog eats? 😅 While "leftovers" are unfortunately still and still canine meals, beware of dangerous food left (unfortunately) in our plates ...
Chocolate
At the top of the list, chocolate is no more than a poison. Theobromine, a molecule close to caffeine and contained at very high doses in dark chocolate, is impossible to eliminate for the digestive system of canines. It attacks even the heart and vital organs.
Confectionery
Christmas rhymes naturally with parties, chocolates, sweets ... This profusion of sweets should not in any case benefit our little companion, under penalty of constituting a nasty poisoned gift. We could say chocolates and sweets: same fight, but it would be lacking rigor, because the confectionery is limited to risks of diabetes and obesity rather than heart attack. To be avoided in all cases!
Chestnuts and chestnuts
To finish with the series of sweets, know that the chestnuts and chestnuts typical of the end-of-year festivities do not find their place in the bowl of your doggie any more. Sources of bloating, diarrhea, vomiting or intestinal obstruction, chestnuts are a definite danger to the health of dogs.
Nuts
Almost impossible to digest for a dog, nuts are even highly toxic, starting with nutmeg and macadamia. While you're there, know that all dried fruits are dangerous for the canine species 😜
The grape
Since we are talking about fruits, and when grapes are welcome in the art of the table, avoid leaving clusters hanging around. Very toxic to small dogs, pips can cause serious intestinal problems and lead to death.
Butter
As you can see, if chocolate and sugar are banned from dog food, you will find cakes and other pastries the worst potential foods for Snowy.
Cheese
Inseparable from the festive dish, the cheese board must be kept at a distance from our animals. Same dilemma for dairy products, not necessarily fatal, but disadvised in view of their harmful consequences on the canine intestinal transit.
Avocado
Highly appreciated in winter, avocado is one of the most dangerous fruits for dogs (risk of pancreatic and pulmonary edema).

Foie gras
In general, if the fat and the animal liver are both excluded from the diet of dogs, I let you guess what it is for foie gras ...
Smoked salmon
To get back to our sheep, our humans and our dogs, remember that what is bad for humans is also bad for our pets. In other words, ban the sugar and the fat, but also the salt, contained in large quantities in the smoked and marinated fish.
